It is the only college in Sussex to be recognised as a centre of vocational excellence in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) for business.
The college's aims are to:
- Listen to existing and potential learners and, as a priority, focus on their needs as customers, seeking always to add value to the learning experience
- Engage closely with local employers and community groups so as to provide better and more relevant education and training for their needs
- Work positively and in partnership with others, including local schools, to foster lifelong learning
- Provide a wide range of high quality learning and progression opportunities from pre-foundation to higher education
- Build and sustain a reputation for outstanding vocational education and training
- Establish centres of excellence for key areas of its work and develop innovative learning solutions, particularly through the use of information communication technology
- Widen participation and increase access to enable individuals to maximise their life chances, paying particular attention to measures to promote equality and diversity and to the needs of students with learning difficulties and disabilities
- Make a significant contribution to the local economy, including the regeneration of Hastings and Rother and, in particular, continue to raise standards of educational achievement
