Derby College is very active on the international scene, with extensive experience in International student recruitment, consultancy and training, as well as EU funded projects.
Derby College is one of the largest Further Education Colleges in the UK with over 1000 members of staff, 3,500 full-time and 15,600 part-time students. Derby College has CoVEs (Centres of Vocational Excellence) in Manufacturing, Technology, Construction and Retail Derby College offers a rich curriculum of academic, vocational and professional programmes at various levels. Derby is centrally located in the heart of England and close to many major cities including Manchester, Birmingham, Sheffield, Leicester and Nottingham.  Derby College has excellent links with both public and private sector employers on a local, regional and national level.  Derby is home to Rolls Royce, Toyota and Bombardier and we have excellent links with all three companies. Derby College has a cosmopolitan and culturally diverse student base.  Students range from 16 to 60+ on a wide range of full time and part time courses.  Derby College works with local schools allowing school aged children to have value added work experience. 400 international students study at Derby College each year from a number of different countries, either full time or as part of a study visit, so you will be ensured of a warm welcome by both staff and students. The International Office is the external face of Derby College, extending the College’s sphere of influence and developing its networks internationally.  The International Team has built up extensive experience and a high level of expertise collectively on a variety of prestigious projects around the world.  Whether it is recruitment of individual students, tailor made projects or consultancy work, the International Office at Derby College is always pro-active in seeking initiatives and responding to them.  It has been instrumental in developing links around the world such as Bosnia, France, India, Germany, Russia, Sweden, Turkey, Tunisia, Libya, South Africa, Iraq, Kuwait, Egypt, China, Hong Kong and Thailand. 

The International office can offer bespoke programmes which cater to company/client needs as well as a range of study tours or summer schools to meet individual needs from two weeks to ten weeks.
