Castle College Nottingham has a mission to unlock potential, raise aspirations and deliver excellence. It operates over 17 sites and has 1000 staff. With some 28,000 students, the college prepares people for vocational futures and university life and it supports their professional and personal development in a variety of vocational and education areas.

It operates over 17 sites and has 1000 staff.  With some 28,000 students, the college prepares people for vocational futures and university life and it supports their professional and personal development in a variety of vocational and education areas.  These students come to the College on full-time, part-time, employer release and short course programmes.  Some 700 international students come to the College each year, drawn from over 40 countries around the world.  Castle College Nottingham has an annual turnover of £37 million The College is a Centre of Vocational Excellence in Health Sciences and in Travel and Tourism.  It offers broad range of vocational education and training including:

  • Castle College Nottingham offers a full range of courses in a variety of areas including:  NVQs, GNVQs, GCSEs, BTECs and A/S, A2 levels and Higher National Diploma Degree programmes.  Additionally, the College has developed a range of Foundation Degree courses. 

    The College has strong links with local, national and international commercial and industrial organisations and has successfully undertaken a wide range of projects from initial staff training to skills upgrade and management development. The College has jointly managed projects of up to £14m in value and is noted for its flexible, adaptable and responsive approach to client needs Castle College Nottingham has developed strong relationships and partnerships with organisations and authorities worldwide, these include British Airways, Servisair, the Kuwait Government and the UAE Military. In addition, the College has recently opened an Automotive Academy with Toyota. The Academy will train automotive manufacturing and maintenance technicians.

    The College is an associate college of De Montfort and Nottingham Trent Universities and has partnerships with the University of Nottingham, Loughborough University, Keele University, Bath University, Aston University, Exeter University and Newcastle University. English as a Foreign Language provides an important aspect of the College’s international work and we provide high levels of English language support for all of our international students.  Our summer schools for English language teachers form countries around the world has proved a popular and successful area of this provision.  Some 250 English language teachers attend these programmes of skills upgrade.  We are members of English UK.The student guidance and counselling system is another strong element of the services provided at Castle College Nottingham.  Students enjoy excellent personal and pastoral support though a system of personal tutors and a dedicated student support office.  The International Student Support Office won the British Council Beacon College status for this work some years ago and the College holds the Matrix quality standard for information advice and guidance services and is approved by the Guidance Accreditation Board.
