The City & Guilds of London Institute (“City & Guilds”) is a registered charity (Charity Number 312832) founded in 1878. It was granted a royal charter in 1900 for the advancement of all such branches of science and the fine arts as benefit commerce and industry.  

City & Guilds carries out its Royal Charter aims and fulfils its mission by providing internationally recognised qualifications, awards, assessments and support for individuals and organisations in the United Kingdom and overseas across nearly all occupations in industry, commerce and the public services.  In so doing it works closely with governments, colleges of further education, employers, training providers, individual companies, local education authorities and schools.   

City & Guilds works with more than 7,000 colleges, training providers and employers with a total number of annual learners at almost 1.8m. The City & Guilds group which includes the Institute for Leadership and Management offers more than 500 different qualifications, spanning 22 sectors.  Learning strands are offered from entry level through to post-graduate and ILM management qualifications.  In the UK City & Guilds provides majority of National Vocational Qualifications at levels 1-5.

In addition to the provision and quality assurance of qualifications, City & Guilds provides a range of consultancy, development and operational services to a large range of organisations including major employers, corporate organisations and government agencies. City & Guilds has a strong project management capability which is used for both internal and client projects.  Major projects include:
