The “Heart of England International Academy” (HEIA) is the collaborative working partnership of Stratford-upon-Avon College (founded 1877) and City College Coventry (founded 1832). Both Colleges are public sector College, registered with the UK Border Agency with Highly Trusted Sponsor Licence status and achieved British Council Accreditation for English language programmes. City College Coventry is also accredited IELTS examination centre since 1995. The quality of the HEIA`s provision is externally monitored and supervised by OFSTED and QAA, which the courses are accredited by a range of national awarding bodies including EDEXCEL, BTEC, OCR and AQA.
HEIA ‘s both Colleges offer an extensive range of vocational and academic programmes with around 600 international students in total delivering English as a Foreign Language, A Levels, BTEC Extended National Diploma, International Foundation Programmes in 8 subjects, Warwick University Higher Education Foundation Programmes in Business Studies and Social Sciences to various Higher Education Programmes. Both colleges provide homestay accommodation in close vicinity to the colleges and Stratford-upon-Avon College has residential en-suite accommodation for 256 students, the majority being international students.

City College Coventry is a CETT member (Centre for Excellence in Teacher Training) in partnership with the University of Warwick, running a variety of teacher training programmes and is the Centre of Vocational Excellence in Refurbishment and Renovation of Building.

Stratford upon Avon College is the Founder College of National Skills Academy in Cultural & Creative Arts and the first college in country to receive the Training & Quality Standard Award in Hospitality, Leisure, Travel and Tourism.

City College Coventry’s key subjects are Media Studies/Engineering/Construction whilstStratford upon Avon College’s key subjects are Media/Performing Arts/Hospitality Management and.

Stratford upon Avon College works in partnership with a number of UK Universities in the delivery of specific programmes, for example: the University of Warwick and the delivery of the Higher Education Foundation Programme in Business Studies and Social Science for international students; Thames Valley University and the delivery of Foundation Degree and B.A programmes in Hospitality Management

The HEIA runs high calibre projects with China/HK/UK/European/Middle East partners and is actively involved in 2012 Cultural Olympiad activities, working together with Coventry/Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce.

This partnership of Further Education Colleges offers an impressive portfolio of courses and enhanced student guidance/support.  We offer the opportunity of developing formal training and education partnerships with industry and learning organisations in a range of vocational and professional areas including hospitality, tourism, catering, engineering and management.
