MOLISA delegation visit Toyota Training Centre

TVET UK Member’s receive two delegations from Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affair MOLISA - Vietnam

TVET UK Member’s recently welcomed two delegations of senior officials from Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affair MOLISA (Vietnam). The visits took place over a period of three weeks coinciding with the visit of the Vietnamese President to the UK.

Both delegations consisted of high ranking officials from General Department for Vocational Training MOLISA, Government Office, Ministry of Finance, Parliament and Former State Vice President in addition to managerial staff of some provincial departments and schools in the vocational training system. 

Key objectives for both delegations were to gain an overview in the following areas: Vocational training strategy and policies; National Vocational Qualification (NVQ); Articulation, entry and exit in vocational training and Operations of the national body in charge of human resources. 

More specifically though Quality Assurance and Inspection systems, Government policy and funding models Vocational and technical education (VTE) systems; Accreditation models for VTE; Components of and development of Skill Standards, Testing and Certification system (SSTC);School-Industry Partnerships; Resource allocation and financial planning and other relevant policies such as articulation, entry and exit in the VTE, development of private sector, etc 

The delegations were given presentations by a number of TVET UK members including: British Educational Suppliers Association (BESA), Centre for Excellence in leadership (CEL), HME Technolgy, Lifelong Learning (LLUK), Standards Verification Unit (SVUK), Edexel, Castle College (Nottingham) and Bournemouth & Poole College.Both delegations felt that the trip was extremely useful and the feedback from the visits was extremely positive. 

Highlights included the visit to Bournemouth & Poole's college where the delegation visited the award winning Escoffier Restaurant and Castle College Nottingham where a number of the Vietnamese students studying at the college shared lunch with the delegation.

It is anticipated that from these initial meetings relationships will be formed bringing mutually beneficial outcomes in the future.
