29 October - Kazakh Minister of Education meets with TVET UK Delegation  Zhanseit Tuimebaev, Kazakh Minister of Education and Science met with Matthew Anderson, Head of TVET UK Association of Colleges delegation and the representatives of UK colleges in Astana on October 28, Kazinform reported. During the meeting sides discussed a wide range of issues regarding perspectives of further cooperation. Namely, they talked over issues on the development of state compulsory standards for technical specialties and vocational education, invitation of foreigners to work in high schools of Kazakhstan and other ones. 10 July 2008 - Speaking at the MEA Conference with London Business School, Learning and Leadership: Meeting the skills needs in the Middle East and North Africa, Minister for Lifelong Learning, Further and Higher Education Bill Rammell described TVET UK as an organisation that will 'enable the UK and Middle East and North African countries to engage in mutually productive partnerships'.  To read a full transcript of speech 

More than 160 senior delegates including government, the private sector and academia attended the Middle East Association/London Business School Conference which focused on the vital issue of meeting the skills needs in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) and the potential for further UK/MENA co-operation in this area.  AME article on the conference

22nd - 26th June 2008 TVET UK's ITC Business Development Manager Alan MacArthur led a group of TVET UK members to a market scoping mission to Egypt.  The mission involved visits to a wide range of government and non-government organisations, training institutions, employers organisations and factories around Cairo and Alexandria.  TVET UK member the  Chartered Institute of Environmental Health article highlights the trips benefit to them.
